SERAS will be holding an in-person workshop in Sheffield on Thursday 3rd February & Friday 4th February 2022 and it would be great to see you there.
The workshop follows the successful publication of our white paper ‘Preparing the Workforce for 2030: Skills and Education for Robotics and Autonomous Systems’ and will explore ways to realise the report’s recommendations. If you haven’t seen it yet, please find a link to the white paper here.
The workshop will be held over two half days. On Thursday afternoon we will look at current best practices and the state-of-the-art in education and skills acquisition around robotics. On Friday morning, we will brainstorm future activities and funding plans. We also expect to fit in a visit to the Maker spaces in the Sheffield University Diamond and to the Sheffield Robotics laboratory and possibly the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.
There is some limited funding available to support travel and/or accommodation, please get in touch if you would like to attend but think you would need financial help.
We also have a limited amount of funds available to put towards mini-projects (max £2k each). Projects need to be completed by March 31st. Please apply via the proforma. Proposals will be evaluated on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please send any proposals to L.firstname.lastname@example.org
The conference is being jointly organised with STEM Learning and will take place in Sheffield.
Lunch on Thursday will be provided.
